What we collect

  • Your business name, the towns you cover and the work you do.
  • Things like your years in the trade, your accreditations, your opening hours and where we can find your logo and photos.
  • For a call back: your town, postcode area and registration scheme.

We save your answers as you go, so we may keep them even if you do not finish.

  • The messages you type or speak and the page you were on.

When you become a customer

  • Your business details, addresses, email, phone, domain name details and your Google Business Profile link.
  • Your payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
  • If you sign in with Google to give us access to your Google Business Profile, we see the accounts and invites involved. We do not keep your Google sign-in.

Details about your business from public places

We look up your business on Google and on your own website. We use this to check your details are right, to build your preview and to see other electricians near you.

When you visit the site

  • A visitor code, the pages you look at, the site that sent you to us, your country and the type of browser you use. This is our own site statistics. If you click Reject, we only add to simple totals that hold nothing about you.
  • The name of the ad or link that brought you here. Everyone who clicks that ad gets the same name, so it says nothing about you. We keep it with your enquiry. We only save it on your device if you say yes to ad cookies.
  • If you say yes to ad cookies, details of your visit go to Meta and Google. See our cookie policy.

Why we use your details

The law says we must have a reason to use your details. Here is each reason.

  • To build your preview and talk to you about it. You asked us to. The law calls this taking steps to agree a contract with you.
  • To run your website and our other services. We need your details to give you what you pay for. The law calls this a contract.
  • To check enquiries are real and stop spam. The law calls this a legitimate interest. It keeps our time and our ads aimed at real electricians.
  • To count how people use the site and test changes. This is our own site statistics. It is a legitimate interest. If you click Reject on our banner, we only add to simple totals that hold nothing about you. You can also switch it off at any time from the Cookie preferences link.
  • To see which ads bring enquiries. We keep the name of the ad that brought you here with your enquiry. It is the same for everyone who clicked that ad. The law calls this a legitimate interest.
  • To share your visit with Meta and Google. We only do this if you say yes to ad cookies. The law calls this consent. You can change your mind at any time.
  • To answer your questions in the Lucy chat. The law calls this a legitimate interest.
  • To keep a record of your cookie choice. The law asks us to be able to show what you agreed to.
  • To follow the law. For example, we keep invoices for tax.

After you ask for a preview, we may contact you about it and about our service by WhatsApp, phone or email. Tell us to stop at any time and we will. We never sell your details.

Do you have to give us your details?

No. But without them we cannot build your preview, call you back or run your website.

Automatic checks

When you send us your details, our system checks them against Google and your website. It looks at whether your phone or email matches the business you named and whether it is an electrical business. We use the result to decide whether to tell Meta about your enquiry, which helps our ads reach the right people. It does not change how we treat you. Lee looks at every enquiry himself.

Who we share your details with

We only share what each one needs to do its job for us.

  • Google Firebase. Stores our database, including enquiries, customers and site statistics.
  • Vercel. Hosts this website.
  • Stripe. Takes payments.
  • Resend. Sends our emails, including the email we get when you get in touch and any email we send you.
  • OpenRouter, Anthropic and OpenAI. Run the Lucy chat. Your messages go to them to get a reply.
  • Google. Looks up your business and nearby electricians and helps fill in your address. If you say yes to ad cookies, Google Ads also gets a coded copy of your email and phone number to match your enquiry to an ad.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram).Only if you say yes to ad cookies. When you send your details or pay, we send Meta a coded copy of your email, phone and name. We also send your visitor code, IP address, browser details and Meta’s own cookie codes. We keep a copy of these with your enquiry so we can send it again if Meta misses it. Meta uses them to match your visit to its users and to our ads. It also uses them to show and improve ads. Meta is in charge of what it does with them. See Meta’s privacy policy.
